I am a Computer Science & Engineering bachelor student at the Technical University of Delft.
Previously I have completed an Industrial Design Engineering bachelor at this university.
Because of my background I have a better understanding and focus on the needs of the user. As such I am aiming to help bridge the gap between UI/UX designers and developers.
During my education I specialized in the multimedia track, gaining experience in signal and image processing, as well as multimedia analysis.
That description above is my professional profile. But who am I really as a person?
As a person I've found my passion in programming and software design after deciding pure Industrial Design Engineering just wasn't for me. The thing I enjoy most is creating interaction between the user and the machine, this feels the most rewarding.
During my Computer Science studies, being the older and generally more experienced student I have found myself more motivated and focussed than some of my peers. This has resulted in me taking the lead in guiding the process and supporting my teammates during group projects. It has also lead to me being able to become a Teaching Assistant in some of these course I excelled in, namely 'Algorithms and Datastructures' and 'OOP Project'.
I've spent several years working as a volunteer at the local scouting. There I worked together in a team to arrange fun weekly activities as well as several camps throughout the year. This has taught me teamwork as well as taking responsibility, it has also helped me form ideas on how to make things 'fun' and interesting. As there is no more honest reviewer than a child just looking to have fun.
In my free time I enjoy playing video games. Having participated in several gamejams, I can say I also enjoy creating video games.
Perhaps one day I'll be able to combine my passions for programming and video games into a professional career.
